General Settings
WordPress panel > From the dashboard on the left section > Under the Rank Math heading > Select General Settings.
Links
Strip Category Base: URL structures with long and category names are not very good; we recommend turning this option ON. It allows removing the category path in the URL.
Redirect Attachments: When you add visual media (photos, etc.) to your articles or pages, this setting provides a link to the media and directs you to your site. This includes SEO benefits for your website. For this reason, we recommend that you turn this setting ON.
Redirect Orphan Attachments: This option determines where to redirect found and new photos in WordPress Media/Library. It is recommended to add your homepage here.
Remove Stopwords from Permalinks: Mark this option as OFF.
Nofollow External Links: Nofollow makes all external links on your site. Turning this option on can negatively affect your SEO. If you want to follow a link, you have to do it from the text editor. OFF
Nofollow Image File Links: When you link to the images you add to your website, these image links are nofollowed. If you do not use such visual links to external sites, we recommend keeping them closed. OFF
Open External Links in New Tab/Window: All external links on a site should open as new tabs. This option adds the target=”_blank” tag to your external links. We recommend keeping it open. ON
Breadcrumbs
You can turn the breadcrumbs settings on or off according to the status of your theme.
Webmaster Tools
In this panel, you can add the verification code we received from search engine webmaster tools such as Google, Bing, Yandex. Just add the content part of the verification code.

In this area, you can share the SEO score of your articles.
.htaccess file editing
The htaccess file is where operations such as SSL redirects, www redirects, permalinks, browser caching settings are made. If you do not know enough about htaccess, it is not recommended to make changes in this section. The slightest mistake in this file can block access to your website.

Advanced Robots Meta: Set the advanced robot meta settings as in the image below.
Noindex Empty Category and Tag Archives: This section sets whether your category or tag that has been created but has no text assigned to it should be followed by robots. Our recommendation is to leave this setting “ON” and set noindex for empty categories and tags.

Capitalize Titles: Allows titles to be set to large. You can turn this off because you can also set it in your WordPress editor.
OpenGraph Thumbnail: It makes a small photo appear when sharing an article or page from your site. You can add your company logo here.

This part is an essential part of Rank Math SEO settings. You can choose whether your site has a single author or multiple authors. If it is a single author, you must disable the “Author Archives” section. Google will not welcome this as author pages will be duplicate content. If you have a multi-author website, you can enable it, alogirtma will make optimizations according to your selection.
Misc Pages
Date Archives: Select these date archives as disabled to avoid duplicate content.
Search Results Title: You can format the search results title variable.
404 Title: You can format the 404-page header.

Noindex Paginated Pages: Noindex numbered pages. We prefer to use this part closed.

Noindex Password Protected Pages: Set this section to “ON” so that pages logged in with a password are not indexed on Google.
Posts
Single Post Title: You can format your post title. By default, it comes with a title, a separator, and your site name.

Post Robots Meta: This is where noindex, nofollow settings are made, leave the default.
Link Suggestions: 128 / 5000 Çeviri sonuçları Provides link suggestions about your other articles. This feature is excellent for building anchor text if you have a lot of writing.
Link Suggestion Titles: Suggest link suggestions based on keywords or titles. You can choose one according to your needs.
Primary Taxonomy: Choose whether categories or tags should take precedence in your posts. We suggest you set this section as a category.
Add SEO Meta Box: Turn this part on. It adds a meta box in the WordPress editor for each post. So you can make special edits to your posts.
Bulk Editing: You can enable bulk editing on the post edit screen.
Pages
The operations we have done in the Articles section are also valid for the “Pages” section. In addition, you may want to index pages such as “legal notices” “data privacy.” We will not explain this part further.
Attachments
You can adjust your media settings according to the information above.
Categories
You can leave the category archive title and description as default. If you do not want to index the categories against robots, you can choose noindex from the robots meta section.
Tags
You should make the label section a habit and shelve it altogether. Tags you add for an article will be detected as duplicate content because the same Article is shown again under different keywords. For this reason, you should not use tags in your posts. It will also be beneficial for your site to set your Rank Math tag settings as noindex.
